The second trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has dropped, and while most folks’ attention is squarely on the eponymous critters, there were also a small handful of human characters revealed — namely, the protagonist’s friend and the game’s professors. That’s right, multiple professors. Here’s a quick rundown:
Nemona
Described as “your friend” on the official Scarlet and Violet website, Nemona wears a uniform similar to yours, suggesting you attend the same school, and she’s also the first person you’ll battle. She has three Pokémon we know of: Pawmi, Lechonk, and Smoliv. She has a sunny disposition and is quite knowledgeable and skilled, but seems to struggle with throwing Poké Balls.
Professor Sada
You’ll encounter her if you pick up Pokémon Scarlet version. Her feathery, almost caveman-like ensemble is reminiscent of the game’s Legendary, Koraidon. She even has fangs! Whether it’s indicative of something else (like the region being primal or low technology in Scarlet) remains to be seen.
Professor Turo
You’ll encounter him if you pick up Pokémon Violet version. His futuristic, nearly Tron-esque outfit is reminiscent of the game’s Legendary, Miraidon. Whether this is indicative of something else about the game (like the professor’s relationship to the Legendary) remains to be seen.
