LADY LAYTON SWIMMING ACROSS THE POND LATER THIS YEAR

The upcoming sequel to the popular Professor Layton series — Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy — finally has a confirmed 3DS release window for the West! Fledgling detectives will be solving puzzles and making deductions later this fall.

ARZEST DEVELOPING HEY! PIKMIN

The developers behind the controversial Yoshi’s New Island are confirmed to be helming Pikmin’s latest venture in space trash hoarding. While that may not inspire much confidence, here’s hoping Arzest has since returned its Kazoo to the deepest, darkest depths of Mordor’s Mount Doom where the lamentable doodad was undoubtedly forged. Sorry not sorry, but that is not an acceptable “instrument” to base an entire soundtrack off of.

PAC-MAN BURROWS MARIO’S CREATIVE CAP

A trademark for Pac-Man Maker was filed by Bandai Namco today, leading many to believe a Super Mario Maker-esque game could be in the persistent pellet-popper’s future.

METROID PRIME 3: CORRUPTION SAMUS FIGMA INCOMING

Pre-orders for Samus’ latest Figma are just around the corner! While you impatiently wait to bring peace back to the galaxy, the official Figma blog updated this morning with brand new images of the intrepid bounty hunter in action.

DROOL OVER THIS BREATH(TAKING) OF THE WILD LINK FIGURE

Medicom’s upcoming Real Action Heroes series Link figure based on his appearance in Breath of the Wild received a duo of gorgeous new photos today, courtesy of the 2017 Miyazawa Model Exhibition.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE FRESH GEAR OF SPLATOON 2

A slew of new Splatoon 2 screenshots highlighting amiibo functionality was shared on the game’s official Twitter account. I gotta say, I’m pretty excited to finally be able to tweak hairstyles to my liking.

MARIO KART 8 DELUXE ONLINE LOBBIES GET A MUCH NEEDED TUNE-UP

Beyond a revamped Battle Mode and updated roster of racers, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has another notable new feature tucked away under its well-oiled hood. Anyone waiting in an online lobby can now bring up a menu to change their kart and driver without needing to drop out of the server.

MARIO KART 8 DELUXE’S MENUS ARE JUST AS YOU REMEMBER THEM

While perhaps not the most exciting news of the day, GameXplain provided Mario Kart fans a walkthrough of the game’s home menu, character select and online lobby screens. Needless to say, it’s pretty identical to the Wii U version.

JUST ONE MORE MONTH UNTIL ULTRA STREET FIGHTER II RE-RE-RE-RE-RELEASES ON SWITCH

A new video for Ultra Street Fighter II circled the web showcasing character customization and game modes, including the all new “Way of the Hero” mode.

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: KANTO DRIFT
