While other outlets rave about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s many game design glories, the folks over at Digital Foundry are here to offer their usual technical-minded look at games, over a 20 minute dive into the game and how it holds up from a tech standpoint. And the results may surprise you:

The game, despite its huge size and scale, manages to have a pretty stable 30 fps on Switch, with only occasional and niche dips. While there is a bit more awkwardness with changing resolution while docked, it’s overall a large improvement over Breath of the Wild, and overall immensely stable.

Tears of the Kingdom launches tomorrow, May 12th. Make sure to check out our guide where we list off a retailer list and details about pre-order bonuses!
