Nintendo Switch 2 has officially become THE console to own if you’re a Wario fan. With the July 2026 Nintendo Switch Online update adding Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, you can now play more games starring Mario’s greedy rival than on any other Nintendo console. Of course, this is also playable on Nintendo Switch.
This update also adds some lesser-known adventuring titles to the Game Boy library. Fortified Zone appears to play like a top-down Legend of Zelda combined with a shooter like Smash TV. Meanwhile, Sword of Hope II is a more traditional dungeon crawler RPG played from a first person perspective.
And if you’re an Expansion Pass subscriber, Nintendo hasn’t forgotten you with this update. In fact, you technically get two games in one here with the addition of the Dr. Mario and Puzzle League double-pack. Keep in mind, neither of these are straight ports and are uniquely made just for the GBA. Gorgeous spritework and snappy, colorful puzzler gameplay adorn both games. So let us preface by saying, you’re welcome (or we’re sorry?) for your new addictions.
July is still young, so there could be more where this came from. This handheld-focused NSO update is live right now and we’ll keep you updated on any further NSO goings-on.
