Limited Run Games announces Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, Half-Genie Hero steelbook cases

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition will both be receiving steelbook cases courtesy of Limited Run Games.

The announcement was made following last week’s reveal of Limited Run Games’ collector’s editions for Shantae and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut, which both come with steelbook cases.

Limited Run Games was unable to include a steelbook case in their original run of Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse Collector’s Editions, and the company never released anything similar for Half-Genie Hero (instead, Xseed Games handled publishing).

With a steelbook case being included in Limited Run’s Shantae and the Seven Sirens Collector’s Edition, a Limited Run steelbook will now be available for every Shantae release.

Both Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero launched for Nintendo Switch in 2018 after initial releases on Nintendo 3DS in 2014 (for Pirate’s Curse) and Wii U (for Pirate’s Curse in 2014 and Half-Genie Hero in 2016).

Steelbooks for both Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero for Nintendo Switch will go up for open pre-order on Friday, September 11th at 10 a.m. ET — the same time as collector’s editions for Shantae for Game Boy Color and Nintendo Switch and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut.

Pre-orders will run for four weeks, closing on Sunday, October 11th at 11:59 p.m. ET.
