One of the many new features added in Pokémon Sword and Shield is curry-making, which replaces Pokéblocks, Poffins, and other similar mechanics of past Pokémon games. By making curry, you can bestow various benefits upon your Pokémon team, like increasing Happiness, Experience, Hit Points, and more.

There are 151 different curry combinations in the games, all of which require some experimenting to discover. If you don’t have time for all that chef’s work, no worries: We have a complete list of all the curry in Pokémon Sword and Shield right here plus all the rewards you can get for making it!

How to make curry

To first make curry, you’ll need to enter Pokémon Camp by hitting your “X” button and navigating to the menu option. Once there, you can start cooking up some tasty curry!

To make a curry, you’ll need to select one main ingredient and up to 10 different Berries. These Berries will influence the taste of your curry (so a Sweet Berry will make a sweet curry, a Bitter Berry will make a bitter curry, etc.). Many newer Berries possess numerous flavors, so if you’re looking to create a specific flavor curry, you’ll need to somehow offset those multiple flavors.

After you’ve selected all your ingredients, you’ll enter into a mini-game to cook the curry! How you perform here will determine that Taste Rating your resulting curry will carry, so play carefully.

The mini-game has three phases:

  1. Fanning the flames. Here, you’ll hit “A” repeatedly (or shake your Joy-Con) to fan the flames burning beneath your curry pot. Be sure to fan at an even, un-rushed tempo to get the best possible results.
  2. Stirring the curry. Move the right stick of your controller (or move the Joy-Con in a circular motion) to stir your delicious brew. Stir quickly but not so fast you end up spilling!
  3. Putting your heart into it. Timing is key here! Press the “A” button right when the the shrinking circle is in the thin, green area.

Curry Dex

Here’s a full look at all the curry you can make, along with their key ingredients and the Berries you need to pump them full of flavor!

This list is organized by how the in-game Curry Dex organizes curries. By unlocking new types of curry, you’ll register them in your Curry Dex along with the highest Taste Rating you’ve achieved, the date you first made it, and what Pokémon you had in your lead.
