It’s hard to believe it’s already been two months since Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was unleashed onto consoles. The newest entry in the long-running franchise is the first time Prince of Persia has dabbled in the popular Metroidvania style of gameplay. Having arrived near the end of January, many players have since completed the journey through Mount Qaf as new protagonist and member of The Immortals, Sargon.

Fans of The Lost Crown have much to be excited about as Ubisoft has revealed today that the game is receiving four post-launch content updates. Starting March 20th, the first of these updates will bring a Speedrun mode and a Permadeath mode in addition to new costumes for Sargon. There are more updates on the horizon as well.

Following the March 20th update, a Boss Rush mode is expected in the Spring 2024 update with the inclusion of even more costumes for Sargon. Not long after the Spring update, a Summer update will add new combat, platform and puzzle challenges known as the Divine Trials. This update will also bring new amulets (different stat and movement perks for Sargon), another round new costumes for Sargon and more.

What do we know about the final Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown update?

The aforementioned three updates will be free of charge. However, the final announced update will arrive later in the year and bring new story DLC. This update will not be free as it is counted as DLC rather than just an update to the game.

The Lost Crown is already a stellar example of one of 2024’s big guns and is surprisingly well-suited to the Switch. The game was built from the ground up specifically for the Switch with other platforms following after. With more content arriving soon for the game, now would be a great time to dive in to The Lost Crown.
