Puzzle fans have something to celebrate today, as one of the best in the genre is celebrating a milestone birthday! The Puyo Puyo series is now 30 years old, dating all the way back to Compile’s original releases of the first game back in 1991. It’s been in Sega’s hands for the majority of that time,  and the company has shared their celebratory logo:

The “30” is based on a stylized “ぷ”, or “Pu”, as in “Puyo Puyo”. Not a bad showing for the burstable blobs that give the series its name. Earlier this year some anniversary art was shared, tied to a Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 update, to bring even more festive vibes from some of the cast. And if you really have a Fever for more Puyo Puyo, you can check out our thoughts on plenty of the series’ entries:

Happy birthday, Puyo Puyo!
