With how successful Pragmata has been for Capcom, both commercially and critically, it’s no surprise that the company is considering developing it into a full-fledged series. Listed in Capcom’s latest financial results report, the company was asked about the success of its new IP and what plans it might have for the future of the brand. Expectedly, it seems Capcom is beaming about the possibilities.

“Sales of Pragmata reached 2 million units in the first 16 days after its launch, driven by strong recognition of our development capabilities,” Capcom explains, “including its fresh gameplay that combines action and puzzles, as well as its compelling characters and world setting. Based on this strong start, we will continue our analysis and consider the possibility of developing it into a series.”

It’s likely too early to make definitive claims, however. Later in the financial report, Capcom is asked about potential “growth drivers” for the fiscal year, and it says, “In addition to Pragmata, our new title lineup includes Onimusha: Way of the Sword and other unannounced titles.” That’s rather exciting, but it’s probably the best we can expect at this point. For now, let’s just hope we’ll see the continued adventures of Hugh and Diana sooner, rather than later.
