It seems like Pragmata can’t be stopped. After announcing a few weeks back that its new IP crossed an impressive one million sales, Capcom has returned to reveal that Pragmata is now past the 2 million sales mark. That’s great news for Capcom, which has been on a hot streak for almost a decade now. While the sales don’t match what Resident Evil Requiem has achieved, Pragmata is an entirely new IP, so its success has been incredible to watch.

In a post on Twitter, Pragmata Director Cho Yonghee writes, “Over 2 million players have joined Diana and Hugh on their journey to the moon! The entire development team is constantly amazed by the warm support we’ve received for Pragmata from so many people.” He included a new illustration of main character’s Hugh and Diana, as well as a short video clip of Diana presenting Hugh with a new drawing.

This success bodes well for some comments made last week by Capcom USA COO Rob Dyer. In discussing Pragmata’s western influenced design, Dyer said, “We’re to a point now where we’ve got another IP that Capcom—and god bless them, has an arsenal—that we can continue to go down.” Pragmata reportedly took around six years to develop (it was announced back at the PlayStation 5 unveiling), so I wouldn’t expect a sequel to happen for at least a few years. Still, Capcom isn’t likely to walk away from Pragmata like this without at least trying another game.
