Much like we reported last week, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has topped the Japanese sales charts again. In a report from Famitsu, the comical life simulation game continued its reign of terror by selling an additional 178,533 units for its second week on sale. The closest competitor was Pokémon Pokopia in second place with a meager 17,039 units. While that’s not 15 times the sales like last week, it’s still quite a big gap.

Unbeknownst to me last week, Capcom’s Pragmata was delayed by a week for Nintendo Switch 2. It makes its debut at number three on the carts with 14,453 units sold, barely beating out the PlayStation 5 version in fourth with 12,786 copies. That’s pretty good for its debut week, especially since many players may have already played it on Sony’s console. Pragmata is also off to a strong start globally, with Capcom announcing 1 million units sold in just two days.

As for hardware, the Switch 2 remains the highest-selling console in Japan right now. I’m surprised that people are still buying the original Switch, in all three of its forms, but Switch 2 is cleaning up shop. The PS5 ranks ahead of the original Switch, but falls below the Lite and OLED versions, which is pretty concerning. Then again, Microsoft only moved 127 Xbox Series X Digital Editions in Japan last week, so that’s truly dire.

Here are the top 10 games for the week of April 20-26, 2026, in Japan:

  1. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Switch 2) – 178,533 (743,938)
  2. Pokémon Pokopia (Switch 2) – 17,039 (927,044)
