Unlike Monster Hunter proper, Monster Hunter Stories wants you to care about its plot. That much is clear from the Wings of Ruin opening movie, where our playable rider takes part in a tribal ceremony while other, more mysterious events occur.

We know this’ll lead to you meeting the Razewing Ratha down the line and embarking on an adventure with them and other allies through this vibrant, monster-filled world. If you’re a more hands-on type, remember that Stories 2 will have a trial version available beginning this Friday that’s allow you to transfer progress to the full game and grab a free talisman in Monster Hunter Rise.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 will be available beginning July 9th, alongside a trio of new amiibo and even more Rise crossover content.

You can pre-order your copy on Amazon today!
