As shared by Wario64 on social media, select Best Buy locations will be hosting a midnight launch for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Hitting Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5th, 2026, buyers can head to their local Best Buy’s (if applicable) to get the game right as it releases. If you’re looking to complete that purchase with the special themed Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2, a limited number of them will be available in-store to buy along with the similarly themed Pro Controller.

The landing page to check can be a little confusing, but when you select your state, a drop-down menu for locations will open up. If your store is listed, that means it’s participating in the promotion. The page will also allow you to change your pre-order for the game to pick-up if you’re having it delivered so you can grab it at midnight instead of waiting. The same does not apply to console or controller pre-orders, so you’ll need to wait for that or try your luck on release.
I’m a bit too old for midnight launches now, but I remember how fun they used to be back during the Xbox 360 days. Lining up with fans of similar interests is a great way to socialize, make friends, and bide your time reminiscing about your favorite things. I’m not sure how Best Buy will be handling queue lines, but if you’ve never experienced a midnight release, this could be a good way to do so.
