Square Enix has released a new teaser for Final Fantasy Resonance, the upcoming HD-2D spin-off in the popular RPG series.

The video focuses on the Warrior of Light, going over his backstory before showing the character in a full-motion video scene.

The narrator from the previous Resonance trailers returns to summarize who the character is.

“This world is unique as it is where the crystalline legacy was formed. It was also for a time shrouded in darkness — its four elemental Crystals bereft of light,” the narrator says.

“However, a lone individual endeavored to lift this colligenous veil — a stalwart champion foretold of in an ancient prophecy.

“That individual was the Warrior of Light, and it is with him you shall endeavor to forge a bond.”

Final Fantasy Resonance is the first HD-2D game in the franchise, and an adaptation of the 2015 mobile title Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. It was revealed during June’s Nintendo Direct presentation.

Final Fantasy Resonance release date

The game will launch on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 22nd, 2026.
