Square Enix has announced that it will run a temporary Final Fantasy X-themed museum in September as part of the game’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
The installation will open at the Lumine Zero venue in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. It will run from September 12th to the 27th, with attendees able to purchase commemorative merchandise.
Residents of Japan can submit fan art and comments related to Final Fantasy X through a form until July 31st. Square Enix will select from the submissions and show them at the museum.
Further details regarding the exhibits and tickets will be announced on the official website and X account as they become available.
Square Enix has also released a “25th Anniversary Special Movie” for Final Fantasy X, which features a number of cinematics from the game overlaid with key lines of dialogue.
Final Fantasy X launched in Japan on July 19th, 2001. It was the first Final Fantasy game on the PlayStation 2, and the first title in the series to receive a direct sequel, 2003’s Final Fantasy X-2.
Final Fantasy X on Switch 2 release date
A Nintendo Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will launch next week on July 23rd, 2026. There does not appear to be an upgrade path for those who already own the remastered duology on Switch 1.
