As spotted by RPG Site, listings for several DLC packs for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Revelation have leaked from the Epic Games Store. By utilizing a third-party tool known as EpicDB, which tracks changes made to entries on Epic’s storefront, we can see a laundry list of potential DLC planned for the game. While a lot of it has to do with pre-orders and premium editions, there is one listing that is sure to ruffle some feathers: a Story Expansion Pass.
You can see the whole list on EpicDB, but it mostly contains placeholders entries titled “FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION DLC1,” etc. Clearly, these entries are meant for potential DLC rather than as concrete plans, hence why we’ve labeled this as a rumor. It’s mainly surprising that one entry specifically says “Story Expansion Pass,” which implies Square Enix has more concrete plans regarding that specific add-on. Also strange is that a DLC2 is not present, though the other entries go up to 9.

The story expansion listing does add up with what FF7 Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi has said in recent interviews. While the current plan is to finish the game and get it out into the public, Square Enix hasn’t ruled out making a larger expansion for Revelation. The only reason Rebirth never received any expansion is that SE didn’t want to make fans wait even longer for a proper conclusion. Since it will likely be a good few years before we see another proper Final Fantasy, giving Revelation a big expansion would be a good way to tide fans over.
