The Hobonichi Mother Project has revealed a new collaboration with Casio, celebrating Mother 3’s 20th anniversary with a limited-edition watch inspired by the game.

A special variant of Casio’s G-Shock DW-5600 series, the watch’s vibrant yellow color is inspired by the sunflower fields in Mother 3’s sixth chapter – one of the most emotional and memorable parts of the game. A pixel art image of sunflowers is also displayed when the backlight is activated.

The watch also features the Mother 3 logo on the dial, Mr. Saturn creatures across the resin band, and the word “Potential!” engraved on the back in Japanese. It comes packaged in a special tin case featuring a sunflower field. A removable, gold-colored protector is included to protect the crystal and case from scratches.

Shipping worldwide and priced at $160 / £145 / ¥19,800,  the Mother 3 watch will be distributed through a lottery sale. Applications will be accepted from 11 a.m. on July 17th until 11 am on July 30th on the Hobonichi Mother Project website. Applicants will be notified of the lottery results on August 5th. Orders are limited to one item per person.

This is the third collaboration between the Hobonichi Mother Project and Casio, with a red Earthbound-inspired G-Shock watch debuting in 2024 and a black G-Shock based on the original Mother in 2022.
