With no buildup or hype, Nintendo uploaded five more games to the Switch Online Virtual Boy app last night. Among the games is Jack Bros., a rather solid dungeon crawler/maze game from Atlus that technically takes place in the Shin Megami Tensei series. I’m not really sure if you can call any game on the Virtual Boy a hidden gem as the entire library has been hidden for decades, but it is a standout title on the console.

Among the other games available are V-Tetris, Space Invaders Virtual Collection, Vertical Source, and Virtual Bowling. Interestingly, three of those games were previously Japanese exclusives, meaning we might eventually see the entire Virtual Boy library come to NSO. I don’t really have high hopes for Waterworld making the jump, but I don’t think anyone will really miss that game.

All five games are now available for subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The Virtual Boy app is playable on both Switch and Switch 2. We don’t have any word on when Nintendo will be updating the app with its color change filter, which would be incredibly helpful in making these games not retina destroying.
