Square Enix has confirmed via social media that its 2022 tactical RPG title Triangle Strategy has been temporarily delisted from the Nintendo eShop. In a post on Twitter, the company writes, “Triangle Strategy is temporarily unavailable to purchase on Nintendo Switch eShop. Those who have already bought the game will be able to download it. We are working on this and will update when the game is able to be purchased again.”
This news is similar to what happened with Octopath Traveler earlier in the year. Square Enix removed its 2018 classic-styled RPG from the eShop for an unknown reason before eventually returning it to sale six weeks later. There has been no official answer as to why, but many have speculated that it is down to Square Enix acquiring the publishing rights from Nintendo. That could be the same thing happening with Triangle Strategy, which has been a console exclusive for over two years now.
How to buy Triangle Strategry while it’s delisted
For the time being, the only way you’ll be able to buy and play Triangle Strategy for Switch is via a physical copy. It likely won’t be too long before the game returns to the eShop, but it does sting a little that it won’t be readily accessible for the holiday season.
