The classic Jurassic Park trilogy of films released at just the perfect time when it came to licensed video gaming. Spanning the ’90s allowed dinosaur action across a full breadth of systems, though it found its home primarily on the handhelds and consoles of Nintendo and Sega.

Limited Run Games has arrived to give us a chance to enter the doomed attractions once again with the Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection. While only two games have been confirmed so far – Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues – even these released across the NES, Game Boy, and SNES, meaning 6 games are already included.

The Sega-developed games are perhaps the most iconic, though, so it would be a surprise if they weren’t included, too.

The new ports aren’t all, though, as Limited Run Games has confirmed it will be making reproduction cartridges of the Game Boy, NES, and SNES titles. Specifically:

Standard Editions (NES, Game Boy, SNES) – $49.99 to $64.99

  • Physical copy of either Jurassic Park or Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues on an amber retro cartridge
  • Replica of the original game manual

Collector’s Editions (NES, Game Boy, SNES) – $99.99

  • Physical copy of either Jurassic Park or Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues on an amber light-up retro cartridge
  • Numbered foil stamped slipcover
  • Replica of the original game manual
  • Double-sided poster inspired by the classic Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection

Pre-orders for the physical edition of the collection will be available between September 1st and October 15th. A digital edition is also confirmed. More details regarding other games included are expected to be shared over the coming months.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
