In less than two years, Capcom’s latest entry in the flagship series has made an impressive mark on the company’s portfolio. New all-time sales numbers (as of September 30th, 2022) show that Rise has passed 11.2 million copies sold, making it Capcom’s third best-selling game of all time.

Currently it only trails behind Resident Evil 7 (and just barely, as the survival horror title sits at 11.3 million in its five year lifespan) and the behemoth that is Monster Hunter World at 18.5 million sold.

It’s worth noting that the numbers for Rise (and World) do not include their large-scale expansions, which both show up elsewhere on the list. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is currently Capcom’s 16th bestseller, with 4.4 million sold in its first three months. It’s also worth mentioning that these numbers for Rise and Sunbreak come from fewer platforms than RE7 or World, speaking both to the strength of the Nintendo Switch in the current market and to Nintendo’s own support of the game when it came to marketing.

A huge congratulations to Capcom and the Monster Hunter Rise team! This noted success comes ahead of Sunbreak’s third title update, due late this month.
