Tokyo Game Show 2022 is happening this week! To kick things off, Capcom hosted a TGS2022 Capcom Online Program showcasing a variety of announcements. What opened the program was the upcoming update for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

Rolling out on Thursday, September 29th, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak’s free Title Update 2 is packed with new monsters, a new locale, a new system, and more!

Hunters will be able to take on Flaming Espinas, Violet Mizutsune, and Risen Chameleos. They’ll also be able to tackle a new tier of Anomaly Quests (which will feature Gore Magala and Espinas) and Anomaly Investigations’ level cap is being bumped up to 120 along with new afflicted materials being added in. Complete this challenging task and you’ll be able to unlock new options in Qurious Crafting. Layered weapons are also being implemented in this update, allowing Hunters to change a weapon’s appearance. You’ll also be able to partake in new Event Quests each week.

Paid DLC will also be available on the same day. These include the Master Arlow layered armor set, layered weapons, gestures, poses, hairstyles, and more.

After this, the next major update (Title Update 3) is slated for a late November release. Right now Capcom is just teasing this update as a big monster update that’ll be filled with “several monsters, variant monsters, and powered-up monsters” according to the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak road map teaser.

Monster Hunter Rise and its paid DLC add-on Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak are currently available on Nintendo Switch and PC.
