If the protagonists of the Silent Hill games think they have it rough, they should try being a modern-day fan of the series. With no new titles over the past decade, the incredible P.T. wiped from digital storefronts, and Silent Hills scrapped altogether, things have looked bleaker than a night in the Otherworld. There may now finally be a light shining through the fog, however.
According to reports from VGC’s sources, influencer NateTheHate, and journalist Jeff Grubb, Konami plans to revive the abandoned survival-horror franchise with multiple projects, including a Silent Hill 2 remake. It is said to feature revamped AI as well as new animations, puzzles, and endings. It is also claimed that it will be developed by Bloober and may release as a timed exclusive on PlayStation consoles.
This is the stuff I've heard, and it comes from multiple different sources. Not all of my sources are primary, but everything is mostly lining up. To me, the biggest indicator is the stuff I've seen lines up with Konami doing a big reveal at E3 last year before it pulled out. https://t.co/GzUb3jzrwX

Previous news stories support these claims, such as Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka – who worked on Bloober’s 2021 horror game The Medium – teasing last year that his next project would be “the one you’re hoping to hear about.” That year also had Bloober claim that it was working on a horror IP from “a very famous gaming publisher,” and the studio also signed a “strategic co-operation agreement” with Konami months later.
Another project, according to VGC’s sources, is an episodic series of “short stories” based within Silent Hill, with a couple of people claiming Annapurna Interactive (publisher of Outer Wilds, Kentucky Route Zero, and Donut County) to be involved. Finally, Konami is also said to be working on a new mainline Silent Hill title, though there are currently no details available.
While these projects have yet to be officially announced, Konami showed interest in outsourcing its existing IPs last year, and confirmed that it has “a number of key projects” in the works following its withdrawal from E3 2021.
