The Switch Online Expansion Pack has seen steady growth since it began. N64 and Sega Genesis games have been added to the service semi-regularly, but the main “value” kicks in when it comes to Switch DLC. Animal Crossing: New Horizons set the stage, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has boosted the offerings, and now it’s time for Splatoon 2 to try and keep things fresh.
As previously announced, the Octo Expansion has been added to the service. While this could be something many players have already experienced, it also goes to show that “older” content isn’t off the table. Perhaps Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Torna ~ The Golden Country could join in to give a taste of the series leading into Xenoblade Chronicles 3?
Upcoming N64 drops were also teased, specifically Kirby 64 and Pokémon Snap. No word on dates or order, but it’s worth noting the Japanese version of this video included a Custom Robo title as well. We’re due for some new reveals as we head towards June (a typical slot for Nintendo Directs, though now without E3 as a factor) so who knows what could make a splash then.
