Last week, we mentioned that a certain game was notably missing from Masahiro Sakurai’s recurring recreations of games in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Thankfully it was just a slight delay to be tied to a different console launch after all, giving an arcade legend its due after all.

Sakurai wasn’t just focused on games this past week though, with a system that’d change the world and even a movie making the cut:

Donkey Kong (NES) – 38th anniversary

Famicom – 38th anniversary

Super Mario Sunshine – 19th anniversary

Pokémon The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back! – 23rd anniversary

Metal Gear – 34th anniversary

Persona 3 – 15th anniversary

Mario Paint – 29th anniversary

F-ZERO X – 23rd anniversary

Yoshi’s Woolly World – 6th anniversary

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
