Project Piplup (or Project Pochama as it is known in Japan) has officially begun, and the official Pokémon YouTube channel has marked the occasion with a new video starring the sought-after Sinnoh starter.

Following Project Piplup’s announcement in March, you may recall seeing videos of an adorable costumed Piplup mascot waddling around on the project’s official Twitter page last month. The oversized penguin is now back for a new video, wherein Piplup is seen engaging in photoshoots and dancing on a Pokémon-themed stage.

The project, aside from promoting one of the starter Pokémon in the upcoming Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes, appears to be following the footsteps of Project Eevee. This fits with the video’s description stating that the purpose of Project Piplup is to “spread the charm of Piplup to the world” and promises “various activities.” After all, it’s been a month since Project Piplup put out the call for companies to invite the penguin Pokémon to their businesses for social media documented visits.

Look out for more Project Piplup content this year on Pokémon’s official social media channels and the official Project Piplup Twitter account.
