I’ve been waiting patiently for any word on the Cotton Reboot English release. Already available in Japan as of this February, it’ll mark the return of a cute ‘em up legend on modern systems. While that wait continues, another return for the series has just been announced in Japan. Unlike Cotton Reboot, which models itself after the X68000 version of Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams, this new compilation looks instead to its Sega Saturn follow up.

Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute is exactly that – a pairing of Cotton 2: Magical Night Dreams and Guardian Force, a fellow Success shooter. It doesn’t carry the same cutesy aesthetic as the Cotton series, and instead goes full metal with its tank based gameplay. Cotton Boomerang, an updated release of Cotton 2 that included extra playable characters and other additions and alterations.

Though no English release has been announced, thanks to the Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute website we know that it’ll feature English text support. If interested, keep an eye on how you can import this one (or be ready to grab it from the eShop) for its September 30th release.
