Fill up those ink tanks, grab your splattershots, and get ready to roll. This morning Nintendo of America released Splatoon 2 artwork to celebrate the winter season and its many holidays, but more importantly for competitive players, the company finally provided concrete dates and times for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary special Splatfest coming this January.
And don’t forget, we’ll be kicking off the new year with a special Super Mario themed #Splatfest! Will you go big with #TeamSuperMushroom, or shine with #TeamSuperStar? The action kicks off 1/15 at 2pm PT and ends 1/17 at 2pm PT! pic.twitter.com/QPjKzsubTl

While the Japanese date for the event had already been detailed, we now officially know that the next Splatfest will begin January 15th at 2 P.M. PT and end on January 17th at 2 P.M. PT. The Japanese Splatfest detailed physical rewards for winning teams with high-ranking players; however, Nintendo of America is yet to state anything about these prizes for overseas competitors.
Will you be Team Super Mushroom or Team Power Star? Until we have more details on the event, we will be sure to keep you updated on anything new released about the next Splatfest. “Stay fresh!”
