The gaming community has seen many cancellations this year in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with scheduled events as huge as E3, EVO, and San Diego Comic-Con sadly facing the ax in 2020. Fortunately, speedrun fanatics can still enjoy Summer Games Done Quick this year, as the charity fundraising organization is now live once again.

As with the previous Games Done Quick event in April 2020, the latest summer-themed marathon will be an online-only event, with some of the world’s fastest players presenting their speedruns from home. GDQ events are traditionally held at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Minnesota, but of course, in-person meetups are still not possible.

Many Nintendo favorites are featured on the SGDQ 2020 schedule, including retro classics such as Super Mario Bros., Ocarina of Time, and Super Metroid, to modern hits like Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, and Pokémon Shield.

As always, viewers can donate, with all proceeds this time going to Doctors Without Borders. This is an international network of medical professionals who aim to provide care and medical aid around the globe, wherever it is needed most. Your donations can help cover costs of travel, supplies, and equipment for staff, allowing them to save more lives worldwide.

Summer Games Done Quick 2020 is live now and will run all week until Sunday, August 23rd.
