During February’s Nintendo Direct, Marvelous made the announcement that not only would Rune Factory 4 be getting ported to Switch, but a brand new entry in the franchise was in the works. If you were hoping to play it any time soon, however, you’re out of luck.

During the company’s latest financial results debriefing, it was stated that the game will “definitely not” launch before April 2020. As Takashi Mochizuki reports, Marvelous wants to “take time rather than rushing [it] out”, and it’s instead aiming for the next fiscal year.

If you prefer your farming sims to have a bit less action then you’re in luck, too, as a new Story of Seasons is under consideration for home consoles. The latest entry is another collaboration, this time with Doraemon, and it’ll be launching in Japan this Hune and in the west during the fall. We’ll have to wait and see if this new title would be a return to pure farming fun.
