The time has come. As foretold in the prophecies, I have returned with the Good Word of Pocket Rumble.

In an update on the official Kickstarter page, developer Cardboard Robot Games finally gave an official update on the status of the Switch port of Pocket Rumble, first announced for a March 2017 release. It stated that the game finally — finally!— is ready for launch on Switch.

The caveat is that the game still doesn’t have a solid release date, but the dev says it will be a day between now and the end of July.

In a video update (below), the developer talks about how the delays were due to netcode issues and problems with getting Nintendo’s approval. However, those in the company state that once the Switch version is complete, they’ll move resources over to updating the Steam version of the game, adding a new character and new boss characters, including guests from games like Divekick. Once all of that content is complete, it will release as a free update for the Switch version.

The journey is almost at an end. Maybe the next Pocket Rumble piece I write will be a review. I sincerely hope so.
