Looking to the future, we’re one day closer to the highly anticipated and rumored Nintendo Direct. First “leaked” in November thanks to an EA email going public, another insider has thrown their hat into the hype train ring.
On the 20th page of Resetera’s discussion about the mysterious 18 Nintendo Switch titles that popped onto Amazon yesterday, John Harker, a member of Resetera with a history of accurate predictions, chimed in with an interesting tidbit:
“I knew [the Nintendo Direct] was scheduled for the 11th.
Though I’ve been on vacation for awhile, so dunno if any of the timing has changed because I’ve been out of the game for a bit and haven’t bothered to talk to anyone about it ::shrug::”
Since the posting, fans have run rampant with speculation. We’re treating this as a rumor for the time being, especially with the false reporting of various known leakers “confirming” the date. It should be noted, however, that Resetera poster Emily (who may or may not be the actual Emily Rogers) confirmed that John is right — and has also added that Japanese developer SNK has a Switch title in development.
It’s interesting to note that, oddly enough, the rumored date is nearly a year to the day since Nintendo held its live Nintendo Switch Presentation. That said, don’t be surprised if you find the date being pushed off to January 12th so that Nintendo can make an “annual” established Nintendo Direct day.
What are your thoughts? Think that the January 11th date will stick? Hoping for any surprises to be unleashed?
