After a brief wait, Switch 2 players will be able to re-experience the Dark Knight’s cinematic legacy in LEGO form. WB Games has announced this morning that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be heading to Nintendo’s newest platform on September 18th, 2026. Launched just a few weeks back for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, I suppose the extra time for Nintendo Switch 2 was needed to ensure smoother performance on the console.

Whatever the reason, it will only be a couple of extra months until fans will be able to take Batman on the go with them. WB Games didn’t mention any specifics of the Switch 2 port, just the same general spiel that is attached to the digital store for each version. You can read it on the eShop, which hasn’t been updated to reflect the release date yet.

If you’re worried about its quality, reviews have been generally positive on Legacy of the Dark Knight. The charm of LEGO really does some heavy lifting, but former Batman: Arkham Asylum developer Rocksteady Games aided with designing the combat. That’s a big step up from older LEGO games, which were mostly button mashing affairs.
