Lego and Pokémon are teaming up again for some new “Smart Play” sets, though I think the sheer amount is a little unexpected. On the Lego website this morning, a whopping 12 new sets went up for pre-order, including things such as Charizard vs. Jolteon, Umbreon vs. Garchop, and Mewtwo’s Lab. Each was a ship date of August 1, 2026, though the prices vary between them since some are “all-in-one” sets while others are merely extra figures.
For those unaware, Smart Play is Lego’s technology to make figures interact with not only each other, but the bricks they step on. A similar technology was utilized for the Lego Super Mario sets, though Lego didn’t officially unveil it until earlier this year. The idea is pretty complex, even if it works seamlessly in practice. It’s really a way to make the figures feel more dynamic than they are, even if your imagination could just fill in the gaps.

At any rate, Pokémon fans will have a new reason to stalk the Lego website and collect all of these toys. The full list of the new Smart Play Pokémon sets can be found below along with their prices.
