The video shows a LEGO barrel rolling across the screen – a classic obstacle that has been tied to Donkey Kong since the character debuted in arcades in 1981.

There is not yet any information on what the set(s) will look like, nor have any release dates or pricing details been given. It is also unclear whether or not the project will use LEGO’s new SMART Play feature.

Various characters and elements from the Donkey Kong series previously appeared in Expansion sets for the LEGO Super Mario range in 2023.

It’s been a busy week for LEGO news, with new Gen 1 Pokémon sets leaking online, and the company retiring 15 previous Nintendo sets based on Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing.
