While hunters who are itching to play Monster Hunter Wilds on the go will have to wait just a little bit longer to enjoy the full game on Nintendo Switch 2, they’ll be able to get a small taste in just a few days. The Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo comes to the Nintendo eShop on October 19th, and will let players wanting to get a taste of the experience play through the beginning of their Monster Hunter Wilds Adventure.

Players will be able to create their hunter (and their Palico!), start their journey, and then carry over their save data to the full game when it launches on December 4th, 2026. Unfortunately, the Prologue Demo won’t have access to online multiplayer for players looking to group up with faraway friends, but players with a local group won’t have to hunt alone since local multiplayer will be supported in the demo.

If you like what you see when you finish up with the Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo, you’re in luck, as digital pre-orders will begin on the Nintendo eShop at the same time the demo goes live.
