During Sony’s “State of Play” presentation this morning, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be hitting PC and consoles on April 8th, 2027. The final entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, Revelation will be the “definitive end” of this saga and wrap up any lingering plot threads left by Remake and Rebirth. While DLC was also confirmed today, that’s not even the most exciting part of this announcement. Some rather lavish Collector’s Edition bundles will be available on every platform which include a statue of Cloud, Sephiroth, and Zack.
Going for $349.99 exclusively from the Square Enix store, the FF7 Revelation Collector’s Edition includes a mini-soundtrack CD, an art book, a steelbook case, a “Day 1 Edition” Magic the Gathering “Final Showdown” promo card, the story expansion pack (which includes two DLC expansions), some in game accessories and items, and a “premium statue” of Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth. The statue is rather elaborate, so I can understand the somewhat inflated price point.
In Japan, players will have the chance to get a similar bundle that includes all three games alongside the statue and every bit of bonus content. There are also plaques representing the individual games with exclusive steelbooks and what looks to be a soundtrack CD. Going for ¥77,777, or roughly $490, it’s a hell of a bundle and a good way for players who haven’t purchased any of the previous games to get the entire saga. I’m honestly jealous since it doesn’t ship the US, so I’ll probably wind up paying inflated prices.
On Nintendo Switch 2, as expected, Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be on a Game-Key Card. Square Enix has stated the game will require around 130 GB to download, so make sure you have the necessary space before playing. At least the game is getting a physical release, which wasn’t entirely on the table according to the game’s director.
