Following the launch of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2, Bethesda Game Studios has stated that it plans to bring the port’s “optimizations” to other platforms.

Oblivion Remastered first launched in April 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and despite suffering from performance issues, those versions have not been patched since July 2025.

Developer Bethesda has now confirmed that it’s finally looking into releasing a new update for the game.

“We’ve heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered,” the studio said in a post on X.

“The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able.”

It’s not clear whether or not the Switch 2 version itself will also receive a patch in the near future.

Alongside the Switch 2 version’s release on August 11th, Bethesda also issued Patch 1.0 for the Nintendo port. Boasting a long list of fixes and improvements, the patch notes may indicate what players on other platforms can expect when the next update arrives.
