Square Enix has released a new update for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales that addresses one of the biggest issues players have had with it since launch: how incessantly annoying the fairy companion character can be. As part of the new version 1.1.0 update, you can now completely silence Faie and get to adventuring like an actual curious adventurer rather than being nagged for not following the main path.

If you’re wondering why this wasn’t an option before, I can’t really tell you. The game launched with both “On” and “Reticent” options for Faie, though the latter didn’t seem to modify much. Reticent typically means that a person is fairly shy and won’t speak, but Faie only stopped bugging you 100% of the time for what felt like 90% of it. If anything, I do think Square Enix should modify the value of that option so people who want Faie to remain active, but not overly suggestive, can have a middle ground.

As for the other fixes in version 1.1.0, we get the average update notes most publishers put out nowadays. There are “Minor Bug Fixes,” adjustments to the tutorial, and some PC specific tweaks to fix fps drops. It’s not overly exciting, but it should help make The Adventures of Elliot feel a little more polished.
