Auditors have told French developer Don’t Nod that it will run out of money near the end of 2026 if it is unable to secure a new investment.

According to a report published on Don’t Nod’s financial information webpage (spotted by journalist Guathier Andres via GamesIndustry.biz), the developer had around €8.8 million in April, which is set to run out completely by November.

Don’t Nod CEO Oskar Guilbert has been trying to obtain more funding for “several months” to no avail.

A minority stake of the company was sold to Tencent in 2020. Don’t Nod requested a short-term increase in capital from the shareholder, but Tencent is not interested in further investments, nor in funding Don’t Nod’s current projects.

Don’t Nod previously hoped to have secured funding by the end of May 2026, but despite Guilbert’s ongoing negotiations with “some major industry players,” the company has yet to find an agreement with a major partner.

Best known for its Life is Strange franchise, Don’t Nod was founded in 2008 and debuted its first game, Remember Me, in 2013. It most recently launched the sci-fi narrative game Aphelion in April 2026.
