After more than a year of teasing, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will finally be landing on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28th, 2026. Bandai Namco confirmed the news this morning with a tweet and not a lot else. The bonus content included with the Switch 2 port, which makes up the “Tarnished Edition” part, will also be available on other platforms on the same day.

While some new footage would have been nice to see, we’ve already seen reports that the game is running in a much better state than it was last year. The delays have likely been to get a consistent 30 fps on the device, which probably wasn’t easy for a game as big as Elden Ring. Both the Switch and Switch 2 have examples of open world games, but nothing truly on the same level as FromSoftware’s 2022 mega-hit.
