Hot off yesterday’s internet-shattering reveal of a brand new Star Fox game releasing for the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25th, a sampling of its soundtrack has been added to Nintendo Music.

Ten tracks from Star Fox (2026), itself a remake of 1997’s Star Fox 64, are now streaming as a Special Release playlist on the Nintendo Music app. Among these are the iconic title theme and opening theme, the Star Map briefing screen, Corneria, Meteo and more. The bombastic orchestral take on these beloved songs suit the cinematic sci-fi visual style of the new game.

Check out the full track list:

  1. Title theme
  2. Opening Theme
  3. Corneria
  4. Star Map
  5. Meteo
  6. Area 6
  7. Star Wolf’s Theme
  8. Main Menu
  9. Venom Incident
  10. Mission Accomplished

The ‘Special Release’ strategy to sample a selection of an upcoming Nintendo first-party game’s soundtrack before release has been a popular strategy this generation. Preceding Star Fox in this regard were Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

With only just over a month to go until we are playing a new Star Fox game, the hype cycle is in full swing and I have to say it looks, sounds and feels pretty damn good.
