The producer of Resident Evil Requiem is encouraging fans to have the game completed by next week, as he teased that the next DLC is coming very soon.
Last month, director Koshi Nakanishi announced that a new minigame will launch for Requiem in May.
Nakanishi, along with producer Masato Kumazawa, discussed the minigame in an interview with Denfaminico Gamer. Nakanishi confirmed that it is nearing completion, while Kumazawa added that it can only be unlocked after clearing the main story.
Kumazawa also recommended that players try to beat the game during Japan’s Golden Week holiday period (April 29th – May 6th), hinting that the minigame will be available soon after.
Nakanishi confirmed that it will be “strictly based” on Requiem’s combat, suggesting that it may be another return of the series’ Mercenaries mode or a similar variant thereof.

“For those who’ve cleared the main game and are thinking, ‘I still want to wreak some havoc!’ I think this will have you going ‘Whoa!!’ and having a blast, so please sharpen your tomahawks and stay tuned,” Nakanishi teased (via machine translation).
Story-based DLC is also in the works for Requiem. The game’s most recent addition was a Photo Mode, introduced in last month’s update. This allows players to move the camera around while the game’s world is paused in order to capture photos, and allows for changes to the characters’ expressions and poses.

Resident Evil Requiem is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. We said in our review: “Resident Evil may be revisiting the past with this latest entry, but for the most part, it manages to avoid its previous mistakes – and more importantly, capitalizes on what the series does best.”
