Summer 2026 is already heating up with the recent announcement of a new Avatar: The Last Airbender fighting game. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game’s fast-paced 2D elemental showdowns look like they’ll appeal to fans of Marvel Vs. Capcom’s combo-heavy battles. Appropriately, Justin Wong has just been revealed as the game’s ambassador, so no doubt we can expect some fancy footwork in this fighter.

Developed by Gaming Group International in association with Paramount, Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender is finally getting a proper fighting game. If you’re excited to throw down some earth, wind and fire (and water), a Closed Alpha Playtest is coming soon to Steam. The new gameplay trailer revealed that four characters will be playable in the Playtest: Aang, Katara, Korra and Zuko.

When will Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game release?

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has the potential to grab a wide range of players in a similar vein to how widely appealing Dragon Ball Fighterz has been. If you’re looking forward to this beautifully animated fighter, it will be available on all consoles in addition to Steam in Summer 2026. This includes both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
