While home consoles are a widespread and ubiquitous part of the greater video game industry now, it hasn’t always been that way. Video game consoles have their origins from arcade machines, and the transition they made to end up in people’s living rooms was thanks in large part to systems such as the Neo Geo. This home console from the early ‘90s brought the experience of arcade machines into homes for the first time, and many hold a soft spot for the games found on it. Fortunately, two new collections featuring a whole host of these nostalgic gems are coming later this year!

These two releases are coming as part of the ACA NeoGeo Selection series, being the 5th and 6th volumes they’ve released. They’re both set to be available starting on August 7th, 2025, at least in Japan. As of now there is no confirmation on any international release, but nearly all of the games featured are available on the eShop, so there’s no missing out anyway! Below is a list of all of the games included in each selection.

ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 5:

  • The King of Fighters 2002
  • Art Of Fighting 2
  • Real Bout Fatal Fury
    Twinkle Star Sprites
  • Thrash Rally
  • Burning Fight
  • Aggressors of Dark Kombat
  • Aero Fighters 2
  • The Super Sidekicks
  • Cyber-Lip

ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 6:

  • The King of Fighters ‘98
  • Samurai Shodown IV
  • Real Bout Fatal Fury Special
  • The Last Blade 2
  • Over Top
  • The Ultimate 11: SNK Football Championship
  • Football Frenzy
  • Sengoku 3
  • Aero Fighters 3
  • Zed Blade

If you’ve been looking to revisit the classic NeoGeo feeling, or maybe just want to see what this era of gaming history was like, then any of these titles would make for a great way to do so. Keep an eye out for any word of an international release later this year, or even just check these games out individually on the eShop if you want to jump in right away.
