When it comes to Nintendo, ambition is the name of the game, and not just regarding video games. This can be seen in no better way than with the outstanding Super Nintendo World. This amazing theme park was originally only found in Japan, but has continued to expand to other places as time goes on. In fact, the newest US location at Universal Orlando Resort is set to be open later this spring, and will be the first time the Donkey Kong Country expansion will be available outside of Japan. While the park itself is not quite here yet, it’s a good time to take a look at some of the merchandise that will be available.
As is to be expected of a place called Super Nintendo World, the Super Mario cast has a wide array of merch available. Between hats, plushies, shirts, and more, there’s no shortage of options for all of the most beloved Mario characters. This extends to food as well; items such as the Super Star Popcorn Bucket and Mushroom-themed sipper cups provide various ways to enjoy the Nintendo experience. Of course it isn’t just Mario characters who get the focus, with the opening of the new Donkey Kong Country expansion comes merch for the great ape as well. Items include a banana-shaped fanny pack, a Donkey Kong mug, a Diddy Kong ticket holder, and two new Power-Up Bands for Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong!
The park is set to open as part of Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort on May 22nd, 2025. That still leaves over two months to go, but it will be worth the wait. Between the US’ first taste of the Donkey Kong Country expansion and the plethora of unique merchandise it will bring, there’s a lot to be excited about. With all of the anticipation building as each day goes by, it’s safe to say that May can’t come soon enough!
