Another day, another piece of Switch 2 rumor milling. While we all know that Nintendo is planning some kind of successor to its wildly successful Switch hybrid console, nobody knows when the new unit will be announced or what its actual name will be. That hasn’t stopped anyone and everyone from taking a guess, though these recent rumors are coming from some credible industry pundits.

Both GamesIndustry writer Christopher Dring and VGC’s Andy Robinson have made posts on Twitter claiming that Nintendo is cooking something up for its Switch sequel this month. Dring’s post was more direct, taking a jab at the rumors while stating the Switch is the greatest console of all time. Robinson merely chimed in and stated that he has heard a ton of press talking about a potential reveal, but wouldn’t place any bets on it happening soon.

Now, this does not confirm that Nintendo is doing anything with its new platform in September or any month. As the old saying goes, though, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” With Nintendo having basically announced the remainder of games coming to the current Switch already, it stands to reason that the next big reveal from the Big N will be the Switch 2.
