McDonald’s has announced a new line of Super Nintendo World-themed toys to be included in Happy Meals in Japan. The toys – which feature Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and Toad – each appear to have unique interactions and features, making for quite the varied line-up. They will be available from July 12th.

These will be immediately followed by toys based on attractions at Universal Studios Japan (which owns Super Nintendo World), including Minions, Jurassic Park, and Jaws figures. These will become available from July 19th. There is currently no word on either toy range coming to McDonald’s restaurants outside of Japan.
Universal Studios Japan had some Super Nintendo World representation in its No Limit! Parade last week, with various Mario and Pokémon characters having dedicated floats. Last month, Mario’s platformer rival sped onto the fast food scene as Burger King Brazil revealed that Sonic the Hedgehog toys would be included in Kids Jr meals. Sadly, these also appear to be region-exclusive for the time being, so collectors will have to be vigilant and seek them out via third-party sellers.
