Yesterday morning, developer 10:10 Games and Funko Inc. announced Funko Fusion, a brand-new action game stylized after the ridiculously popular “Funko Pop!” line of vinyl figures. Looking incredibly similar to the various LEGO games, Funko Fusion will not only provide a co-op experience for players to trek through but will unite 20 classic franchises into one big game… so it’s only about 10% of Fortnite.

Set to release on September 13, 2024, on all major platforms, the game will feature characters and settings from Jurassic World, Back to the Future, Jaws, Chucky, The Thing, Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Masters of the Universe, Shaun of the Dead, Umbrella Academy, Invincible, and others. That’s pretty neat, but I wonder how cohesive the whole thing will be.

Arthur Parsons, head of publishing and co-founder of 10:10 Games, told IGN, “Our vision at 10:10 Games is to create an incredible co-op videogame experience that will bring gamers from across the globe together in a unique, fun, energetic, and authentic gaming experience.” In a separate article for Variety, Parsons spoke about potential DLC and stated, “We do have some exciting things up our sleeves already, but we really want to engage with the community that comes to embrace ‘Funko Fusion’ in our decision-making.”

If this all sounds great to you, you’ll soon be able to pre-order the title on your platform of choice. All pre-orders will receive the “Walking Dead” pack (made in partnership with Skybound Games), including Rick Grimes and Michonne Hawthorne as playable characters. This pack will be given to all physical and digital pre-orders ahead of launch.
