Known Spanish Nintendo leaker NashWeedle, responsible for leaks about Metroid Dread and other leaks about Switch 2 dev kits, has a fresh rumor for us on this fine Friday. NashWeedle claims that the Switch 2 dev kits have recently received an important update, allowing them to go “one step further.”

NashWeedle claims that this statement is direct information from a developer in possession of a dev kit. Now, it looks to me like they botched the quote a little, but I think it’s clear that they really meant to say that the Switch 2 can now go “even further beyond,” meaning it now has access to the legendary Super Saiyan 3 transformation. Previously only achievable by Goku and Gotenks, this should afford the Switch 2 an insane amount of power, making it a massive upgrade over the current Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED, none of which can even go Super Saiyan at all.

Switch 2 rescaling

NashWeedles’ opinion, on the other hand, is that it has something to do with rescaling. The Switch 2 has long been rumored to feature some sort of DLSS upscaling, bringing the console the ability to upscale its visuals to 4K when docked, and if this update to the dev kits enables the ability for developers to utilize that function, I guess that would technically be “a step further,” though my money’s still on Super Saiyan 3.

This is all still Switch 2 rumor

It’s important to note that this is all still speculation. Whether it can go Super Saiyan, has DLSS support, or otherwise, the Switch 2 still hasn’t been announced yet, and has even been rumored to be delayed into 2025. So take all this with a grain of salt and keep your own expectations in check, even if the thought of a Switch 2 with a formidable aura and flowing golden hair is exciting.
